If you look at this one full size you can see the wings flutter. She was moving them and the camera caught it perfectly.

The counting and sorting begins...followed closely by bargaining with mommy as to how many pieces they could have before bed :)
Well...Tarini's first Halloween was an overwhelming success. She definitely understood the concept! Especially after she and Benjamin watched Dora the Explorer's Halloween episode
five million a few times :) They asked to go trick or treating all week and only about a zillion times on Friday :-P
Benjamin really got into the spirit and was eagerly running to people's doors with Anakin and Avy. Tarini caught on quickly and ran up to houses with the rest of them. She was beyond excited that perfect strangers were giving her candy. After every.single.house she showed me exactly what she got. She was very proud of her treats!
Benjamin-as usual-is on his own timetable and set the pace...slow. *sigh* He has his Father's attitude-the people with the candy are not going anywhere and I will get there when I get there :) Even with the slower pace, the kids raked in more candy than I could have imagined. Thank goodness they were tired after one hour and wanted to go home. All four of them filled their buckets to the brim. I offered to carry Benjamin's bucket for him but he resisted until I promised not to eat any of his candy. Smart boy!!!

Yes, before you even ask...giraffes do have whiskers. (see picture above)
He's not going to let me pick his design much longer and it's so darned cute.

Anyone who knows Benjamin knows that he loves sports. So he was very excited to take a stab at the football throw. He waited patiently as the...ahem...adult males took their turns and failed miserably. However, he showed them all and got it on his first try and from a fair distance at that. That's my boy!!!
Tarini enjoyed picking up the ducks and getting a prize. She just didn't like letting go of the ducks when it was time to move on.

Benjamin and Tarini really seemed to enjoy the cake walk. Basically, you walk around the circle to music and when it stops, you stop on a number. A number is drawn at random and the child on that number wins a cake/cupcakes. They loved it and we came back to it twice at their request.
Tarini won Halloween nail stickers at the party and wanted them on as soon as we got home.
We attended a Halloween fundraiser at Anakin's school last weekend and the kiddos had a great time. It was, of course, Tarini's first holiday event in the US and she embraced it wholeheartedly. She has not stopped talking about the games and candy and she loved all of the costumes. She especially loved seeing other girls in costumes with wings. Tarini was a big hit in her butterfly costume and Benjamin was cute as ever as a giraffe. I love this stage when the costumes they wear are so cute.
