Thank you for an incredible 15 years together and 12 years of marriage. I am so lucky that we found each other; the serendipity of it amazes me. You are a wonderful husband and father and my true north.

I truly am the luckiest. I love you.

Tara

Ben Folds ~ The Luckiest

I don't get many things right the first time

In fact, I am told that a lot

Now I know all the wrong turns, the stumbles and falls

Brought me here

And where was I before the day

That I first saw your lovely face?

Now I see it everyday

And I know

That I am

I am

I am

The luckiest

What if I'd been born fifty years before you

In a house on a street where you lived?

Maybe I'd be outside as you passed on your bike

Would I know?

And in a wide sea of eyes

I see one pair that I recognize

And I know

That I am

I am

I am

The luckiest

I love you more than I have ever found a way to say to you

Next door there's an old man who lived to his nineties

And one day passed away in his sleep

And his wife; she stayed for a couple of days

And passed away

I'm sorry, I know that's a strange way to tell you that I know we belong

That I know

That I am

I am

I am

The luckiest

Happy Thanksgiving!

We had a lovely day at my sister's house; we enjoyed the company of friends and family and delicious food. It was especially meaningful to have our daughter home for this holiday.
We are so very thankful for our children and the family that God has blessed us with.

Benjamin's 4th Birthday

The festivities started on Sunday with a party, presents and ice cream cake. Continued with an array of fruit with Benjamin's friends at school on Monday. And the grand finale was dinner for four at our favorite Mexican restaurant.

Wearing the birthday crown from school.

So a Russian and an Indian walk into a Mexican restaurant...

"I love queso!"

"Yuck, queso!!" or "I much prefer salsa to queso."

Aren't they cute !?!

The temperature dropped below freezing this past week and we had the first snow of the season. So, of course, we got ice cream and Tarini had her first cone. Tarini was both excited and baffled by the snow. She called it "snow raining" for awhile. By the second snow this week though, 1/2", she was just calling it snow.

Mmm Mmm Good

Benjamin and Tarini had a great time at my nephew Alex's 17th birthday party. They especially enjoyed the cupcakes, or as Benjamin calls them...pupcakes.

waiting very patiently for a "pupcake"

"Are you going to eat that?"

I don't think they like them! :)

All in!

There has been lots of birthday talk in our household of late. This is not only the beginning of the holiday season, but the birthday season as well. We have five birthdays all within 3 weeks; Alex, Benjamin, Dusty, me and my brother, Kyle. This is Tarini's first experiences with birthday parties and she is very inquisitive about when everyone's birthdays are. She asks me when her birthday is almost everyday. I can already tell it's going to be a long six months until her birthday. :)

School Daze

Last week I was at Benjamin's school for a meeting and we were talking about how Tarini was doing...when the subject of school enrollment came up. We discovered that there were only two spots left in the entire school and they would most likely be filled in the next few days. If we wanted Tarini to attend this school, along with Benjamin, we needed to act fast. So, being an old pro at getting documents together after two international adoptions, I had her enrolled a few hours later.

It worked out for the best; we were just waiting for the right time and this seemed like it. Tarini had been asking to go to school for a few days, so the timing couldn't have been more perfect. We decided to have her attend for four of the seven hours a day and work up to a full day.

She started last Wednesday and has taken to it like a fish to water. She loves it and is all too happy to go to bed early knowing she gets to go to school the next morning. :) She is so excited to show me what she has done in class when I pick her up. I have spoken with the teacher and I think we are going to transition her to full days far sooner than we planned. She has adapted to the classroom setting like a pro and has already started making friends.
