We would like to introduce you to the newest member of the Loyet family. We have just been granted guardianship of Tarini and will soon travel to India to bring her home. She is five years old and Benjamin's big sister. We will be chronicling the remainder of our journey to bring her home here on the blog. We are hoping to travel the second week of September.

We will also be adding more pictures of Tarini here on the blog as time allows.

So...stay tuned.

Ben and I were driving home from my sisters one evening and he became very quiet. It was dark and I couldn't see him in the rearview mirror so I quietly asked him if he was asleep.

He replied...

"I'm not sleeping mommy. I'm just resting my eyes."

He is definitely his father's son. :)

The other day he was in the living room and I was in the kitchen talking to Eric. Sounds came from the living room...you know, the kind that you have to check out. So I called to him and asked him what he was doing.

His reply...

"I'm not eating candy mommy, my not!" (emphasis on "my not")

Too smart for his own good, I say.

Panama City Beach

Eric has been working/traveling so much over the last four months that we had enough hotel points to go to Panama City and Beach for a few days. We had a very enjoyable time; taking in the sights, the beaches and chillin' pool side. And don't forget the obligatory vacation shopping. A few beach and pool pics for your viewing pleasure.

After this picture he gave me an up close and personal view of the sand.

Now the ocean, on the other hand, is an entirely different story. He is definitely momma's boy when it comes to swimming. He likes a pool that you can see the bottom and has no ocean life. :)

"How am I going to build a sand castle if the water keeps washing it away?"

" That's a really big pool mom!"

A three hour tour

We always try to take a boat ride of some sort when we visit anywhere near a body of water and this trip was no different. We took a dolphin cruise in Andrew's Bay and rode out to Shell Island. The island was beautiful, so many shells, and the sand was so white. We did finally see a group of dolphins on the way back to the dock. they put on quite a show for us, even jumping fully out of the water.

Zoo World Panama City Beach

Eric and I took Benjamin to the Zoo as is our tradition when we visit a new place. Benjamin especially enjoyed feeding Sydney the giraffe, the wolf show, and petting a kinkajou. It is a small zoo, only a few acres, but well worth the price of admission for those three things. In fact, I think petting and feeding the giraffe was the most amazing thing we have ever done at any zoo.

These guys never seem to get enough to eat.

We decided that it was about time our little man had his first taste of miniature golf. He is obsessed with every single sport that utilizes a ball and golf is one of his latest passions. If we had allowed it, he would have stayed out on that course all day. He loved it! He also made not one, but two holes in one. All.on.his.own. Atta boy.

Baseball and Sprinklers

Benjamin had a blast playing in the sprinklers at Grandma and Grandpa's house. Still can't believe that this is the same kiddo that was terrified of water in any form or fashion.

Of course we got in a little baseball practice; we can't go outside and not hit a few. Or rather Ben cannot! :)
