This day in October was a particularly fun one...Eric was home and had some downtime so we headed out to my parent's backyard. Benjamin did a little golfing, Tarini did a little dancing and they both rode scooters - even Luna got in on the action :)
This was our first holiday in our new home and city. We were very sad not to be trick-or-treating with Anakin and Avy and missed them very much. We made the most of the holiday and the kids have more candy than they can (or will) eat. The kids had parties at school and we went trick-or-treating at local businesses on Friday. Then we finished it all off with lots of candy on Halloween night in our neighborhood. The kids got to walk around with Daddy while I handed out candy. It was a very cold and windy night but they made it around the whole block. When they got home they wanted to hand out candy and I happily gave up my job to the kids. They did a great job and there was a steady stream of kids of all ages until well after dark.

Today was Tarini's last day of school in KY - it also happened to be the first field trip of the school year. I chaperoned the trip to a local apple and pumpkin orchard and it was a great way to end her time here. It was a rain or shine event and we got rain and cold and cloudy, but the kids had a fantastic time.

Finally, what we are here for...apple picking!Tarini really enjoyed picking apples - she and her friends would have done it for hours :) They were incredibly picky, given that they were only allowed to take 3 home.

We are finally through the move out of our house and staying with my parents. Until we find a house in Wisconsin, we will be here with them. We are so thankful that they are letting us crash at their place and hopefully we can get things back to a somewhat normal routine for all involved. What follows are random, and in no particular order, pictures of our last few chaotic weeks.

Chillin' Cousins
Benjamin has never met a rock he didn't like.
Two weeks ago, the kids were in the yard playing and I was working on projects when a sudden rain shower came on. I, being the control freak that I am, would normally rush everyone in and dry off and complain about the mess. However, during this whole mess of a move, I have learned to let go a little bit more and so we played in the rain until we were shivering. I don't know who had more fun; me, the kids or Luna. Afterward, the kids had a warm bath with their clothes on and all :)

Anybody who knows me knows how much I've always loved dragonflies. This week, during a highly stressful move, among other things, this beautiful dragonfly was on my most favorite of trees, my magnolia. Some say the dragonfly is symbolic for change and being okay with it and also good luck.I'll take that!

We are staying with my parents until we find a house in Wisconsin so we decided to keep the kids enrolled in school here. Tarini started 1st grade this week and she loves it. I think the fact that she is learning the routine right along with the other kids has been a huge benefit to her. She is already making friends and is doing great.
Our "puppy"!!! Yes, he really is that big at 6 months old. Yikes!!!
Eric was gone 3 days this week for work while we were moving and so he owed me big time :) He has begun his penance and gave Luna a bath at the dog wash...while I watched. He He!
