We took everyone to visit Keeneland, where racing takes place in the spring and fall. Some of the qualifying races for the Kentucky Derby are run here and portions of the movie Seabiscuit were filmed here.

While Grammy and Uncle Kyle were here we took a little day trip to Shaker Village of Pleasant Hill in Harrodsburg, KY. The Shakers were a religious group founded in the 1800's. We also went for a ride on the Kentucky River aboard the Dixie Belle Riverboat.

Building on the bridge began in 1851, but was abandoned during the Civil War. The bridge was completed in 1877. At the time it was the highest railroad bridge in the US.

Ta Da!
